Global Networked Labour Union, GNUnion – One Big Mesh Network, is the released 1.0 Beta version of new generation, free to join, borderless worker self-organisation, a work in progress. Its main ispiration is the history, struggle and experiences of Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) on the one hand, and free-libre, and open source software GNU/Linux, on the other.

GNUnion is also inspired by comrades standing against global capitalism in women, Lgbt,  immigrant, environmental and social justice movements, Zapatistas, anti & alter golobalisation movements, social forums, free knowledge- information and culture movements; as part of organisations like WikilLeaks, Caos Computer Club, MayFirst People Link, or of recent wave of digital and real world uprisings Anonymous, 15M, Occupy, Gezi and others.

The ‘code’ of GNUnion is free, and aimed to be build by and for all involved peers, who has to sell their labour and creativity in order to reproduce their lives.  All working man, women, those who chose not to work or can not find work, and those who forced to work can freely join us in shaping and moving the whole code or its autonomous parts  forward, or create a fork.

By no means GNUnion aims to pose any direct ideological or political challenge to established independent union structures, neither it aims at competing for membership. GNUnion is a free to join network, based not on membership but egaleterian peership. It creates an interface between emerging new agency of global working classes and the world of 20th century organisations of industrial workers on the one hand, and between older and newer forms of social and solidarity networks on the other. So the union would function as a mesh network through which all nodes involved would not only stand together, but also help and empower the others while they empower them selves.

We believe that the only way for humaninty to create another, better civilisations is by joining all our labour and creativity throuhg peer to peer mesh networks that allow stygmergic mass collaborations! To this end GNUnion commit itself to link and support existing independent union structures as well as emerging new forms around the world, in any possible way.

The main objective, however is to create connetcions, knowledge and infrastructure to realize the transıtıon to collaborative free, libre, and open source social-economic operating systems that are alternative to capitalism. GNUnion will strıve for linking networks between creative, positive and assertive political struggles, mobilisations and direct actions to support such alternatives to capitalism and to replace capitalism with them.

Please do collaborate with us and others to develop the idea, the code and the mesh network we hereby started to build by connecting existing networks and communities as well as building new ones!
