We are ordinary people, outraged like you. Some calls us Indignados others 15M or Occupy Movement, describing those who is pushed at the brink of the global disastrous system or already fallen out of it.
We are sometimes highly educated, most of the time working in a precarious condition or unemployed and often homeless people who have risen up globally in 2011 and 2012.
We revolt not only defend our own rights or rights of those like us, but also of others who has worse or relatively better conditions than ourselves. We have been standing up against the system for the sake of the entire planet and life.
We do not claim to be representing others, or even each other of us and we reject those who claim to be able do so. Instead we choose to fight not only for our selves but also for the others who cant fight at the moment.
We have stood up against the bankers on the Wall Street, wars lords in Egypt, US, Israel and else where; against environmental murderers like Monsanto; the business and state elite almost every where, for the sake of all alive, all women, all man, young and elderly, working and not working.
We believe that a system excluding us also leaves millions of innocent children and elderly in carelessness, hunger even to death every second. While it also threatens the people with relatively secure jobs, contracts and lives at the moment. Their current job and income, their today and future.
Some of you are a part of a union that should be protecting your rights and ‘representing you’ against those forces robbing all of us and destroying all of our future.
We honestly believe that, because of the legal and structural constraints, professional union cadre can posses only very limited power to lead a strong struggle against the elite. Especially without ‘ordinary’, or ‘rank and file’ members being strongly self-organised in your workplaces, in your neighbourhoods and within your unions. We believe when we are strongly self-organised then we are not ordinary any more.
That is why we do not adopt and agree with the position of ‘limited democratic’ structures. Be it local government, national parliament, UN, or trade union board which claims to be the voice of lay citizens or the ordinary members. And claiming the social power created by them, us. These ‘representative’ structures were designed by the elite thinkers like John Locke and Thomas Hobbes again for the sake of the class they were serving then and now leading this offensive towards us.
Since we very well are aware of the pitfalls of the representative system, especially for the people at the bottom, we believe that unless we are strong at the grass-roots, self-organised, and self-manage our lives; so make our own decisions and be able to enforce them, people at the top will always have a possibility to reach consensus that goes against our will.
Therefore we declare that we see the workers’ struggle and #14N general strike as part of the struggle of %99. We support this struggle without pre-condition, where ever possible; general strikes, protests, marches, collective bargains so on. We want everybody knows that our support is to those at the bottom, rank and file workers not the end will of union executive and officials, not to their demands and programs seeking consensus and return to business as usual.
Our vision is a wider one and goes beyond the production and distribution system globally with its structures, cultures, politics and all the other dimensions. We want to build a much healthier, inspiring, free, and advanced system that works for and gives equal possibilities to all. Today we have the knowledge and infrastructure we need to realise this.
We have formed free, distributed and self-organised egalitarian networks in order to lead the global struggle and link existing credible alternatives against the falling system. Before it crashes on all of us, we want to transcend it peacefully.
With this text we call all the Indignados and Occupy assemblies to consider, discuss and if accepted, give unconditional support to the working peoples’ struggle in events like 14N European Trade, 23 March Alter Summit, May 1st celebrations or local, national, international levels.
Than we call all the workers, rank and file union members to get involve in local assemblies, in city centres, neighbourhoods, or in their own workplaces. Exercise democracy with direct participation to collective decision making, horizontal self-organising. We call them to become one of us.
On the 21 December 2012 we start building a global strike fund and solidarity infrastructure that would present a model world that we imagine for the future while making the globally coordinated indefinite general strike possible.
Our objective is to realize a real General strike that is open in terms of time, space and participation and that goes beyond limited industrial or public sector demands of unions’ that are tied up to the system organically, and bridging all the anti and alter systemic local and national struggles in order to displace the system peacefully.
This is a common fight of humanity for a common future
An injury to one, is an injury to all
Join the fight and invite others
